Salvador Dali was a Spanish Surrealist painter. His paintings included images adopted from spontaneous imagination, dreams, and hallucinations.
His Surrealism, like that of the rest of the Surrealists, is concentrated on the term psychic automatism: the attempt made, either in verbal or written form, or any other way, to express the true function of thought; the depiction of thought without using any moral, judgemental, reasonable, logical, or aesthetic preoccupation.
His most famous work, "The Persistence of Memory", is regarded as the most important work of art from the Surrealist movement.

He is an artist that was repressed and only allowed to do specific paintings and drawings. Now that he is no longer under the communist thumb he can express himself in unique ways. His art is ingenious.

He was a painter, well known for being a great surrealist, he was born in Spain, he died in 1989, I have heard of him, I like his work , so do a lot of other people. . .so, what exactly is your question?
