I want to get a cut and dye, any suggestions?

First, you should think about what you want your hair to be like, I imagine you've got some ideas. Now, you can start to narrow them down. This might sound like an enourmous process, but picking the wrong color or style can mean some serious emberassment.
One good website to visit is http://www.seventeen.com/beauty/hairguide/0,,,00.html. Even if you don't happen to be 17, it will give you some great ideas on color, length and style.
Another website that looks good, but I have never personally tried, is http://www.hair-styles-cuts-and-dos.com/.
Go for it!
If neither of those floats your boat, you can also try the good old picture-and-sharpie method mentioned earlier. ;-)
Now, you probably have an idea in your head. "I'd look great with a blonde bob!" Next, you should consult your hair sytlist. They'll let you know what will work, and what won't. It is important not to go until you're ready though, because they can't help you if you don't know what you want!

I saw this on a tv show... tak a poloriod of yourself on a black background and then coulour with a black sharpie how short you want it

Clairol has something like that on their website. You can upload your photo and pick styles and colors, then save them.
