he might be hitting his head on the side of the tank..or might have a parasite..talk to the store that you got him from..my son has one and we always all the pet store for our questions

My Oscar (named Felix) was about six or seven years old when he caught "hole in the head" fungal disease. I hope yours doesn't have that one. It was incurable and I had to find a way to euthanize him in the end.

scratching due to lice, dandruff, seboria, or even diabetes, thats how my dad was finally diagnosed diabetic because he scratched his scalp and it wouldnt heal. go to a doctor.
