When boiling eggs, only put as many eggs in that will fit in a single layer. So it really depends on the size of the bottom of the pot, not how much water the pot holds. And only cover the eggs with an inch of water.

Depends on the size of the eggs, and the diameter of the pot (could be up & down 8 quarts, or a flat and shallow one). The important thing is one layer of eggs, covered in cold water with just a little more for evaporation. Turn heat on high, and cook for 20 to 25 minutes (this is from cold water starting time). Perfect boiled eggs! And older eggs peel better than newer eggs.
