skin does stretch so if you lose weight depending on how big and where the tattoo is it just depends! Ask a tattoo artist what they think about it. I had one done when I was 20 yrs old and alot skinnier it stayed the same pretty much but it did stretch a little bit. I am 41 now and it still looks the same pretty much.

Although skin does stretch or shrink with weight change, the skin of the lower back does not change in any significant manner. Therefore, a tattoo in the lower back area will not change enough to be more than barely noticeable even with very close scrutiny.

If you got it in a place where women are prone to hold weight (Thigh, stomach, hip, butt, etc) there will be big differences in the tattoo and how it will loose if you lose/ put on weight. Lower back, arms, shoulders and that kind of thing won't make a HUGE difference, unless you're putting on/losing a LOT of weight...

If you loose 10-40 pounds the worst that will happen is that you'll see it shift. It will move higher on your body.

Why don't you wait until you lose the weight and reward yourself with the tattoo.
Good luck.
