Neither. They were both prophets and given a significant assignment. One got to lead the Jews out of slavery and start a personal relationship with God. The other had the privelege of leading the way before Jesus came and got to baptize him.

According to Jesus himself: 'among those born of women, no one was greater than John the Baptist; but a person that is lesser one in the kingdom of the heavens is greater than he ( John ) is'. Read Matthew 11:11. So, Jesus himself regarded John the Baptist as greater than Moses.

The right answer was given by Blackbird above. Moses was a great prophet, but John the Baptist prepared the way for the Lord, had the honor of baptising Him, and also died for His sake.

nice question; they are both equally important as they were prophets and served God's will. Moses emanicipated the Israelite slaves from under the Egyptians. John the Baptist was Jesus's cousin and prepared the way for Jesus and i would have to say the J the B is greater because he prepared the way for Christ as well as baptized Him.. hope i could have given you some insight and peace out.

in the eyes of God, probably neither. Look at it this way: if there was no Moses, there probably wouldn't be a John the Baptist.

".....We make no distinction between them ......... " -- Holy Qu'ran.

when God makes no distinction between them, then neither do i. afterall, they were prophets in each of their times. they both gave Holy Books -- one was directly revealed to Moses-pbuh while the other was revealed to Jesus-pbuh and was recorded by John the Baptist-pbuh.

they all brought something with them, and no one is above the other in Eyes of God.

you are dealing with two different era's of time,,, the old testment and the new testment. both were and are great. they eached served a pacific purpose for god,,, to me moses was the greater ,, because he was the one who wrote down of what we know today as the 10 commandants,,, and we have based our belief and life upon these this very day,,, and they never change..
