I am trying to get more design templates for a power pint presentation and when I click on the option for Microsoft office online it gives me an error that says
This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator. What the heck does this mean. This has never happened before.

It could be a few things:

1) You might not be logged-in as an Administrator on the computer.
2) Internet Explorer might be set to too high of security level, not allowing the ActiveX components needed for that web site.
3) You might not be using Internet Explorer as required by the web site.

Try upgrading to Microsoft internet explorer 7.0 as its most likely an error in Microsoft internet explorer 6.0 (corrupt registry key) that is causing the issue and this would hopefully solve it. i know that IE has nothing to do with powerpoint, but it actually does use the IE engine to connect to Microsoft online.

If you are working in WinXP, sign in as administrator if you can.

If not, you can try, from Int. Exp.:
cl Tools
cl Internet Options

then check all the tabs to see if you can adjust the settings for Security, Privacy, and Content.
