I don't think anyone could ever adapt to such aweful pain, burning forever in a lake of fire. How will those who end up there, ever get used to it???

They will never get use to it. The Word of God says that is is a place of 'everlasting' torment. Where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. May God Bless

your body won't be there, just your soul, so it won't be physical torment. You will be tormented knowing that you are apart from God for all eternity and there's nothing you can do about it.
