if it's created in a microsoft format, the PC microsoft program by the same name should recognize it

FYI - MS Works and MS Office/Word are two different programs

if they are incompatible program or one is an OLDER version of the program, you may need to go under "Save As" and change the format - which to use depends on what programs you are using and you may need to experiment.

There really shouldn't be any need to convert the files. The latest Office on Mac can open any file that the PC version can. I don't know if it's true for the very latest Office 2007 that just came out, but I use office on a Mac and have "never" had any issue with file compatibility between me and others at my office that use the PC version. I think I've heard of some Powerpoint file issues, but those have been rare.
