While dumbbells can build strength, they do not raise the metabolic rate enough to burn sufficient calories to loose the weight. Need to incorporate cardio-vascular exercises along with weights for toning.

Hell no. Muscle weighs more than fat and dumbells will only work on muscle which will make you get more..you need cardio to lose weight.

If you do dumbbells and nothing else, you'll gain muscle but you won't lose fat or weight. If you want to lose weight, cardiovascular exercises would be best; like running, bike-riding or swimming. It would also be good to diet.

gaining muscle makes u gain weight so I suggest running to put off the weight.

actually its good u will burn fat when u work out at low weights and high repetitions ....and keep a watch on those calories feed ur selves and burn a hell out ...i recomend swimming running and jogging thats gona help ya a lot
