If self proclaimed atheist takes psychiatric medications every day, is their belief still valid? If so, why?

Only the Lord can see into hearts and know the truth. Our opinions really don't matter as long as we do not judge and mistreat others.

I'm inclined toward wondering why someone who has God as a father (christian belief) needs pills to be happy/normal/sane, or whatever.....nevertheless.....I guess its not all black and white, and God will judge. So, my question for you is: Are you taking meds daily for something that could be cured simply through repentance of sin and obedience to the scriptures? That is really the question we should ask ourselves I think,You and me both.

Luke 13
1Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. 2Jesus answered, "Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? 3I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. 4Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? 5I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish."

Yes. If someone diabetic and they take medication every day is their belief still valid? If some one has cancer and they take chemo is their belief still valid? If someone has a child and to save that child's life they give them anti-biotics is their belief in God still valid? If you got a cold and took sudafed is your belief in God still valid?

Depends which drugs. Drugs for depression don`t invalidate a person`s beliefs. It is a chemical inbalance which can affect anyone. I believe you will find mental illness more prevalent outside the Christian community. For example, Japan, a mostly non Christian society, has more or less the same number of suicides as the US, even though it has less than half the number of people.

ignoring medication that is available for health problems that a person has would be plain stupid. God gave us medication to treat health complications, thats the way i look at it anyways?

I think 'believing' is a term which comes in different meanings. If you believe in something, then you believe in something. It's just how it is, no matter who you are and what you do.
