Return yours, if you can, if you can't, then I'm sorry. Ask your friend where she got hers, then go get that one.

I Have A CHI Straightener & I Love It. I Would Suggest Using Straightener Sprays Or Creams Before Using Your Flat Iron. (Loreal's Straightener Protection Cream) Also Try Using A Shine Serum Before Drying Your Hair.

I have super-wavy hair that frizzes out, so I don't really bother with straightening irons anymore because mine doesn't get hot enough to work on my hair, and I'm too lazy to buy a new one. Maybe you have the opposite problem, and yours is at too high a setting? Also, maybe you could try using a moisturizing straightening serum.

Best flat irons are the tourmaline ones...but they are pricey. I got the HAI flat iron for like 80 bucks on folica.com. It works soooo good. Best flat iron I have ever had..and still have.

sometimes the heat settings vary from straightner to straightner..make sure u start the straightner at low setting...using it on high setting can easily damage ur hair and hence the "fried" outcome...by the way what straightner are u using?
