It should not. Make sure to take your medical records from one doctor to the other. The second doctor may have a hard time figuring out where the first left off. I switched orthodontists without a problem midway though my braces. The second doc read the medical record and picked up where the first left off. He did a great job and I have nice teeth. Make sure to schedule the appoinment with the new doctor at the same time your old appointment would have been so you have no added space between visits. Good luck!
