If you were the one who broke off the relationship, even though you still had some feelings for her, would it bother you (make you mad, jealous, sad, etc...) if you saw your ex had a profile on a dating site? How would you feel about it?

For the record, I didn't dump anyone. Not sure why people here are assuming that.

Yeah I would be mad. But when you think about it if you are not together then it is her choice to be ona dating site. But it would make me mad and sad.

When I got divorced, I joined match.com and worried that my ex would see it and pull something stupid-- like the idiot who answered your question saying he would pose as a different guy and break her heart again. If you are not with someone anymore, it is none of their business who you are dating or how you are meeting them.
Dating sites are not for desperate people; they are for people who prefer to meet other singles without going to bars and getting hit on. I'd say go for it if you want to join a dating site. If your ex sees you, it means he too is looking.
I am guessing that those who answered your question by talking negatively about dating sites are very young and very inexperienced.

I would laugh at her and then pose as a guy seeking a relationship on the same website with a different name and photo(that is if it's free) and then make her think im interested in her and break her heart all over again...and then laugh some more

Truthfully I would feel very sorry for any poor man she roped in. I cant imagine anyone being jealous of their ex on a dating service. Isn't that an act of desperation?

I'm not a guy but if I knew/found out that my ex has a profile on a dating site, I'd be like "Wow, that's sad (as in pathetic)."

If it'd been a bad relationship, and I was kinda angry or hurt still, I'd be happy to see how desperate she'd become since me. If I still had any feelings for her, I'd think "good for her". Clearly she's ready to move on, maybe I should too.
I'd also consider writing her something explaining myself and declaring any feelings I still had: just in case she's interested in trying again.

I am not a guy, but I have been in the reverse situation. It would be weird, but survivable. :o)
