A true Christian would not give you the "my way or the highway" attitude. A true Christian leads a good life, helping others, being a good citizen, accepting people for what they are. If you are lumping all Christians together with the "fallen" people that the news media seems to take pleasure in parading in the newspapers and on TV, then you are sadly mistaken. The Christians I know do not judge people, they accept people for what they are and talk the talk, as well as walk the walk. You unfortunately have not met a true Christian.

They are not any more moral, upright, tolerant and nonjudgemental than any of the rest of us. Unfortunately some have been taught fear and judgement by someone else that has been placed in a position of power. I think it makes them feel powerful & superior. Although that is an illusion because they would not need to make others feel less than in order for them to feel superior if they had true power.
God has been created in our image instead of the other way around. Some have placed limits on Him & given Him human limitations like jealousy & rage. More crimes have been committed in the name of religion than anything else.
Sooooo, I guess my real answer to your question is that the rest of us are supposed show them that love really is the answer. By being loving.
First we have to be tolerant & nonjudgemental of ourselves. Christians are humans, too. They make themselves targets when they don't follow their own teachings, but criticise others.
Jesus himself taught to judge not, lest ye be judged. He taught about prosperity & abundance. That we are his children & that to acheive these things is our inheritance.
So, when christians talk from fear & talk about limitations, then it is up to us to make prayers for them to feel unconditional love from God. The only way for me to teach the real essence behind christianity is to be @ peace within myself. I cannot go around pointing my fingers & judging others.
"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."
Not meanin' to preach, but I feel very passionate that there is a loving, forgiving, compassionate God that loves us all.

The Bible is filled with excuses to hate?
Christ breaks down the barriers between Jew, gentile, greek, man, woman etc...often praising the outsiders for their faith when judgmentalist insiders thought they knew it all?
The Bible is anything BUT an excuse to hate.
"Join you or burn" is such a reducto ad absurdim that I refuse to comment on it. Instead of getting angry at us, why don't you try showing us up.
Try caring for the poor and needy like Christ did, whether or not you believe in him. Try showing love and nonviolence, with every breath and every word (much more difficult then it seems, the tongue is a nasty little instrument that takes years to tame!)

I'm truly sorry if your feelings have been hurt by someone(s) claiming Gods Love for them self and not showing it to you. But please know that not all Christians are cruel. The Bible does not teach hatred Just the opposite, and God doesn't want any one to go to Hell. The Bible never says that God wishes anyone to go there in fact it teaches just the opposite of that God wanted to spare everyone from Hell so badly that he sent his only begotten Son to died so that you could place your sin on him and not go to hell. God loves you very much, Put your trust in Him, not mankind, because man always fails but God never does. And He loves you enough to die for you. Also He is displeased with anyone who has caused you to distrust his Love. again I'm sorry you've been hurt. but God loves you and He can and will heal all your pain if you'll let Him.

Blind faith is the cornerstone in a spiritual belief of any religion. Devotion to a religious teahing or spiritual practice relies upon taking a degree of blind faith. How would you rationally quantify the immeasureable? Faith is a state of being that can not be justified, only trusted. That's the whole point.
Does the idea of believing in the spiritual scare you because of the possibility of being wrong? Is your ego that fragile? Are you that arrogant and beholden by your own intellect that you can't realise that their might be a force higher than your realm of limited mind space?
How do you measure the happiness you feel in falling in love? You can't. Same with God. You FEEL love, you can't touch it. Yet you believe in love, don't you? If not, you're a robot....
You are sad.

Everyone sins. we wouldn't be human if we didn't sin. And by the way, how in the world are we supposed to prove all of this to you? We don't even know you? Only God knows what good things I do and also what bad things I do and that's all that matters to me, so I honestly could care less how you feel. One more thing; it must have taken you hours to come up with that.

My mom is catholic and yous hould meet her. She doesn't debate scripture or judge people.
She just believes in God and Jesus and is very strict on herself for doing good to her own moral level.
I understand the people yous peak of though. They have heard modern christianity very much so by acting like zealots. Only in america.

You are wrong about the Bible. Sure, us Christians are sinners just like everybody else, but the Bible is not full of excuses to hate. It is full of encouragement to love others.

I venture to say youve had a run in or two with some christians who are hard core radicals. Until you get to know us ALL, you shouldnt lump us in with the ones you have had bad expierences with. It only sticks you in with the "joke", as you come of intolerant, judgemental, and quite frankly rude.
