I am home alone tonight and I'm working in a big project that will take me till past midnight. I'm not a big alcohol drinker, but I do enjoy scotch whiskey once in a while. However, I'm feeling in the mood to try something new. What drinks do you enjoy drinking when you happen to be by yourself?

A martini. 2 parts gin, 1 part vermouth. Add a nice big green olive if you like. Shaken or stirred, it's yummy!

You want something to make you mellow without getting drunk.
Put a little Scotch whiskey in black coffee - you can add a bit of sugar if you wish and sip while you work.
or
You can make what my Father used to call a "Sheep's Head" Take an ounce or two of Scotch with a couple of ice cubes - add a spoon of sugar and some half and half. (you can leave out the sugar if you wish) Dad claimed is settled his stomach and got people over hangovers;
Or
Red Beer. Take you favorite beer fill a glass half full and then add the rest with V8 juice or tomato juice - you can add some horseradish or Tabasco if you wish.

A nice bottle of wine when I'm home alone, it's the easiest.... either a Riesling or Pinot Noir. Also, I always keep a bottle of Vodka for mixing drinks when friends come over, you can mix it with many different juices: Clamato juice or V8, grapefruit juice, orange juice, cranberry juice...

Well I prefer vodka and I mix it with orange/grapefruit juice or my fave soda. But go easy or there is no telling what your project will look like!! I hope that you enjoy whatever you decide on!

I don't drink much alcohol but when I do I like a nice glass of red wine.
However if I were you I'd make a cup of hot coco, extra marshmellows:)

If you want to stay awake, drink coffee. Celebrate when your project is done by drinking whatever you happen to have around.
