I get very put off and angry by ppl who deliberately post provocative and derogatory questions and remarks about Christainity and other religions.

Don't they know that such remarks arouse anger and can even cause riots ? In my country , if anyone post such remarks about any religion (not necessarily Christianity), they can be charged in court for causing "religious disharmony".

I hope those ppl who have things against Christianity do their own bloggs and you can go write what you have against God and Jesus Christ till "Thy Kingdom comes ."

I think open debate is healthy as long as people do not get their feelings hurt or get angry.

Even though I am a Christian, I have considered other faiths and found they come up short. However, what if there are things that I had not thought of that would cause me to change my mind? People with the truth do a dis-service to others if they do not share it.

However, if people are deliberately trying to be offensive because they are rude, immature and ignorant, they would do everyone a good service by saving their time and time of others by not saying anything. They should try to be readers/listeners only so someday they will not be so rude, immature and ignorant.

Absolutely not. We should have arguments, but use a modicum of civility while we do. Both the religious, and the non-religious are guilty of the same things on here, bashing and name calling. Neither side is willing to do the one thing that would allow a good argument, and that is to get rid of your ego temporarily, which would allow you to see things from someones else's perspective, and maybe even admit that you are wrong occasionally. Personally I love nothing better then to play the devils advocate to both sides, But I also am quick to defend both the religious and the non-religious for their rights to choose what they believe. If what someone believes and says is cause to be charged with a crime in your country, I am very thankful indeed to live in the U.S.A. You have a good night.

An actual argument would be OK but what you are talking about is people who entertain themselves by disrespecting things that are holy to people. This is not productive at all I agree.

May GOD richly bless you.

I do understand what you are saying. sometimes freedom can make people drunk with the right to say and hurt anyone they choose. the good news is: When you believe as strongly as believers do then the words have no power to harm

Do you agree that we should stay away from religious arguments in this Q & A portal ?

Isn't this a religious argument, especialy since your blaming non believers.
