Hey, as long as you exercise, keep fit, and eat healthy...your size isn't so important. Society makes size and body shape more important than it really is. In fact, the paradox in society is that super-thin people are considered to be healthier, but starving yourself isnt healthy! Some folks are genetically designed to be larger. No matter what they do, they'll never be super-skinny. Again, whoever you are, and whatever your size, being thin is not important- regular exercise and a healthy diet are!!!! Thin does not equal health or even beauty necessarilly. Contrary to what the television and magazines would have you believe, not everyone actually prefers the "super-skinny" look anyway. Ultimately, your own health and well-being are what is really important. Do what makes you happy, and be yourself...each of us has our own unique beauty. Don't feel like you have to look like a Barbie clone.

I have tried all sorts of diets - yes. But I find that eating a HUGE breakfast, an OKAY lunch and a teeny dinner helps alot. If you are about to eat a cookie, don't. Run up and down the stairs a few times and add a staircase each time. Reward yourself afterwards with HALF of the cookie. Do 45 mins. of excercise each day minimum. Find a sport you like! Taekwondo, gymnastics, rock climbing, yoga, pilates, tennis, soccer, basketball, cricket... so many to choose from and you just need to pick one-two!
Paste a food pyramid to your fridge and count up all the calories and stick it to your food. E.G on Bread: One bread slice is ... calories. Keep a sheet on your fridge and write all the things you eat. HONESTLY!!! And the fatty foods.. stop buying them!
Also, try excercising with a friend - not your best friend though because that way if you stop early, you will get embarassed because your friend can keep on going. Go to a gym that counts the calories you burn on the machine, and with your friend see who can burn the most in 45 minutes! Weight is important, yes - but you will gain weight when you excercies because of muscle, just have a tape measure with you and buy a bikini one size smaller like in the comercial and hang it somewhere you will see before you munch on something like your pantry. See if it fits by the summer! I know this is like the commercial, but I tried it, and it works!!!

No I haven't given up. This nation has really allowed it's love of food go way over the deep end. The French love food. They love it and respect it. They don't over do everything like we do in the U.S. They enjoy food but in moderation. When they eat cake they don't cut out a large hunk of it. They take a piece to savor and enjoy. When we eat here we do it so fast that sometimes we can barely taste it. Americans are starting to realize the error of our ways. Schools are encouraging students to active things in and out of class. Playing more outside. Providing more things for kids to do. If we could just get the family at home to care about health and fitness then most of these kids wouldn't we obese. Less time watching t.v. playing video game and computer time. I hour of intermediate to advanced physical activity would work out. Believe it or not children don't always get that at school. It's up to the parents. Ok I've gotten off the original subject. I havent given up on weight loss. It takes true dedication to want to loss weight. Even if you have fallen off the horse. Get back on. If you have a friend who is trying to loss weight. Encourage don't discourage. It makes a hell of a difference.

I have a neuro-muscular illness that has requires I spend extended time in bed or a wheelchair. I gained 100#. Barf-O! I tried to lose weight and got a few pounds off. Then my husbands' blood sugar needed severe control. I cut out our bread, sugar, and most everything with flour in it, including pasta and most rice and potatoes. He has lost some weight. I have lost 35 # over the last year. Yes, that is slow. But the weight STAYS off. It isn't a question of going on a 'diet', it is changing the way you live. It is important, if you want to live in good health. I wish you all the best.

Pretty much when I decided I don't really need to lose the weight anyway. It's not like I'm really fat or anything.
