i'm at about 175, and i want to get to 160 by christmas.
tips?

Diets do not work. 99% of people gain the weight back. Here is how it works. No one teaches the animal what to eat and what not to eat. He knows instinctively what to eat. Humans also have the same instinct. The way it works is just eat whatever tastes good and that will be healthy for you and non-fattening. That is why a baby tastes everything. So again whatever tastes good, is good for you. This is why you will spit out spoiled milk.

But wait!!! Man has the technology to create rat poison. It tastes like healthy food (good taste) but kills the rat. So man has done that to you. Note- any food unaltered by man (uncooked) that tastes good, is good for you. So if you are stranded in the woods, that is how you know what to eat (cooking changes that). So man has created fake fruit. It tastes like fruit that exists in nature but it is terrrible for health, addictive and fattening called sweets.

So it is natural to like real sweets called fruit, like a baby does, but they have fooled you just like the rat. But they do not want to kill you. They want you to become obese so you will buy lots of their foods. This is called GOOD BUSINESS. Other than exercise and healthy eating i have found that going low carb will help you drop the weight quickly. Keep in mind that you must take a good multi vitamin, essential fatty acids and drink plenty of water. Keep your carbs to 25-30 a day. Find yourself a book that lists the carb value of different foods. Start some type of exercise program to really drop the pounds quickly even if it is only 1/2 hr of walking a day but do it religiously. South Beach and Atkins are two good sources of low carb diets but dont skip the chapters on supplements to accompany the diet. Keep to the entire program, not just some of it. Good luck.

I am currently on a NO CARB and NO SUGAR diet, I have been on it for 8 days so far and have lost 5 lbs.
You can eat all the meat you want. This is the menu I have been following.
BREAKFAST bacon, eggs, grapefruit
LUNCH Meat(any type or amount) salad (with dressing) grapefruit
Dinner Meat(any type of amount) salad, grapefruit and green vegetables, or tomatoes, or carrots. Do not eat between meals and NO caffeine.
Hope this helps, this is suppose to be a Mayo clinic diet.

Eat breakfast and lunch like normal but skip dinner. Drink lots of water.

I would suggest taking 30 minutes walks every night after dinner and eat fewer calories.
