No because other views if logical can influence my opinion. However, I can't be influenced unless the argument is logical and presents new evidence not previously considered. I've also come to believe most things aren't worth thinking about never mind debating. We're here for 80 years and then we're gone never to return (at least not in the same capacity) so at the end of the day how many things really matter. I generally present my point of view on a topic and if folks want to accept it or present a well reasoned alternative I'll listen otherwise I'll nod knowingly and just let it go.

Debating anything related to religion is generally a total waste of time since it is faith based, that is based upon accepting things based entirely upon belief rather than hard, repeatable evidence.

I am. Been there. Did that!

However, you need to work on your wording...

...without being swept away "by" (not "from") opposing views.

lol. I have yet to see anyone post anything that would change my mind about anything. All they keep doing is blathering on about the bible. They just don't seem to realize that the bible was written by mankind, mankind is fallible, therefore their bible is fallible too.

And besides, if everyone on here were such good christians, they'd still be stoning adulterers, selling their daughters into slavery and refusing to eat pork.

1John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world.
