I had my thyroid removed and its been a year and I still feel like crap.I'm always tired,my body has aches and pain that I never had before.I was on Levothyroxine but I've had to have it adjusted 6 times and still have no energy,no zest for life.I just switched to Armour thyroid meds.I've only been on it 2 days so I don't know if it will work.Looking for someone who has had the same surgery and how are you doing?I don't know anyone who has had the surgery and so nobody can understand what I'm going through.I have supportive family but I'm only 42 and I'm going thru the motions of life but not living it.

I have thyroid cancer and had my thyroid out 2 years ago. Also had a second surgery this year. I have been very tired, but my bloodwork says all is well. My doc told me to try exercise and the south beach diet.

Also, have you checked out the Thyca group in yahoo groups? It was a lifesaver for me. Offers a lot of support. If you join the group, I will see you there and let you know how the diet and exercise works out!

I am a 7 year thyroid cancer survivor. I experienced the same issues you did and switched to Armour in February of this year. I feel fabulous! I haven't felt this good in years. I am 41 so we are very close in age. For more information on managing your Armour join the Yahoo group for Natural Thyroid Hormones. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormones/ You can check out my story by going to http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/stories-of-others/stephanies-story/

Hang in there! You can do this. Just keep fighting. Armour is the answer if you have enough with the right balance of other nutritional and hormonal things. Stephanie

My cousin had her thyroid removed due to cancer a long time ago. She seems to do fine with a daily thyroid supplement. Sometimes it takes awhile to find the right dosage. If you still feel not right after 6 to 8 weeks on a medication, it is probably time to either adjust the dosage or change meds. Be sure to tell your doctor everything you told us.

Have you had a complete blood panel done recently? It might not be just your thyroid causing your fatigue.
