Obviously you haven't heard of the yearly penguin fly-by over Australia. It's quite a spectacle ... On an otherwise calm day in mid May, the sky suddenly darkens, as if a storm approaches, ... then, an unholy racket can be heard, getting louder... louder... and suddenly, there they are! Beating their tiny fli (oops) wings and squawking like banshees. Thousands upon thousands, winging their way in a great circle that reaches as far as the Great Reef. Driven by forces we cannot understand, they flutter gracefully down to land in Tasmania for a mere 3 hours, where they BREED! Yes, BREED! Then it's off again in a might flock ascending to a height of 2 miles!!!! At this point they become invisible to the naked eye, but it is known they somehow end up back in Antarctica - pregnant and happy, and ready to do it again next year. So keep yer eye pealed next May!

Actually, Penguins do fly in the water. Ever see them swimming on TV? They use their wings underwater just like another bird would use them in the air.

They are not like other birds in the sense that they use them to fly. They use them to steer in the water.

Their wings don't work that way. They more or less help them balance, swim and to protect their young.

i dont know why they dont fly but i do know that they use their wings to swim

i think they are to fat their wings won't support their bodies

maybe they dont fly bcuz they are too heavy... i think...
