If you haven't booked by now, you've missed out on most discount fares. Global travel season is fast approaching, so you need to book as soon as possible. I worked for an airline, and these "cheap" websites are scams. Check directly with the airlines, Ive yet to find a discount website that truely is a savings. They put booking fee's on top of the base fare and you wont see it until after your purchase.

Ive researched the Student Travel sites, and you can still find better fares with the airlines, that is where they get the fares from to start with and then add their fee's. Its all a marketing scheme to draw people in like a gnat to a light. Research and find where you want to go. Flights to the east coast will be cheaper than to the west from Europe of course. It depends on where you want to fly. Fares have been raised by most major carriers with-in the US both domestically and internationally with in the last week.

No matter what site you choose, READ THE FARE RULES! And, again, if you haven't booked by now, you need to with in the next few days. Expect to pay several hundred $$. When you see the base fare, add $100-$300 for taxes and junk fees, sometimes more (whatever that converts into for GBP)

Shoot me an e-mail with your cities and I'll see what I can find. I seem to be able to find pretty good fares and have helped many people from Answers and prevented them getting stuck with a junk deal from a crappy travel site.

The cheapest way may be to get a charter flight (package holiday airline like Monarch) to Orlando and then catch an internal flight to Kentucky, all depends when you're going, but if it's July/August I would recommend this option.

Aer lingus through Dublin is pretty cheap if you can get over there. Also studentuniverse.com tends to run deals this time of year. just search on the internet for things like cheap tickets and student flights.

Sneak out onto the runway after dark and crawl up into the landing gear hatch. If you're not crushed when the gear is retracted and not frozen during the trip, you will get there for free.

You can try STA Travel and see what they might still have available at student discount fares.
