This was actually on a myth busters episode when they were testing the 5 second rule. Whoever bet on the dog is technically correct.
Dogs saliva has more specified bacteria in it that is able to break down a wider range of chemicals and toxins that a human mouth is not. When the myth busters when to test this they used a common bacteria and incubated it in both the dogs and humans saliva. The dog one killing most of the bacteria upon first contact came back from the test cleaner.
When you look at it from a human standpoint however, because the dog does not brush or floss their breathe and saliva smell worse due to the bits of food stuck on their teeth or what not. I say... the bet is pretty even.
Dogs have cleaner worse smelling mouths.

Humans no longer possess the enzymes that most animals have to break down bacteria in the mouth. Therefore, at any given time, there is probably a lot less harmful bacteria lingering in a dog's mouth than in a human's mouth.
In fact, a bite from a human is more likely to cause infection than a bite from a dog (provided the dog is vaccinated from serious contagious diseases such as rabies).
That doesn't necessarily mean you'd want to let a dog lick you on the lips... but you'd be taking just as big a gamble by kissing a stranger.

This comes from the show called "Myth Busters". They tested this 'myth' out not too long ago. It actually appears that a dog's mouth IS cleaner than a human's mouth - they did testing with petrie dishes and had humans and dogs each lick one and tested the bacteria found on the dish!
So, whoever bets that the dog's mouth is cleaner - WINS!!!

yes dogs mouths actually are cleaner, all the people that said no just dont want to believe that something that eats poop and stuff's mouth is cleaner than theres is, dogs actually have an acid that breaks down all of the germs and bacteria in their mouths while it can stay in a humans mouth even through teeth brushing

Sorry, most people have answered your question incorrectly. No one asked which mouth contains more helpful or harmful bacteria; the question was whose mouth is "cleaner"?
I lick no butts (okay, I want to meet the person who claimed that even some people lick their own butts and have them show me how that is at all possible!), and I've never eaten poop (my own or any other animal's). My mouth is ten thousand times CLEANER than my dog's, whether I have less or different bacteria than he does.
Geez, people; read the question!

Yes because a dogs spit changes faster than ours and carries last bacteria, their mouth is 100% cleaner

I guess that would all depend on the person... but the old story of a dogs mouth being the cleanest thing out there is wrong. It is not good to let a dog lick wounds-it will just cause an infection.
I guess that really does not answer your question though.

Yep. I sometimes feed my dog a bit of food off of my fork - I know some humans that I would not be willing to do that with.
