Actually, no. Being an American myself, I can tell you at least from my experience that the people I know think of Canada as our neighbors to the north. Canada is just like America, only you guys got it right, while we continue to spiral down into a pit of despair. A friend of mine recently moved to Canada and I'm actually quite jealous of the things that are better in Canada. Being an American, he sees and doesn't take for granted what you guys have up there.

From the way your 'friend' talks, it's the Canadians who don't like the USA. I hope he/she is not the typical Canadian. I personally have no problem with Canadians, but, I don't really know any, personally. I hope they would accept me if/when I ever go there for a visit and I will do the same here if/when they visit here. If I were to go there to live I would do it the legal way. If they come here to live, do it the legal way. The problem we have in the USA is not with immigrants, it's with "ILLEGAL" immigrants. Most of them come from across our border with Mexico, work for 3rd world wages causing our wages to be depressed, many pay little or no taxes and yet they reap the benefits of the taxpayers who fund the federal welfare programs those illegal immigrants abuse. There is a whole world of difference between a legal immigrant and an illegal immigrant. Legal immigrants usually have higher skills, can support themselves and don't normally end up on welfare. If they do, it's only until they get back on their feet and start supporting themselves again. Illegal immigrants LIVE off welfare, permanently.

No, we just don't like the Canadians that come to Miami and Florida and drive their Mercedes too fast like they own the interstate each winter, you know the ones that think Americans are all peasants as they buy up our coastline at premium prices and makes the rest of us have to pay out the nose too. First the south had to deal with all the northern carpet baggers stealing the land, then they invited their Canadian cousins too. But, people are people good and bad, so I have no issues other than what I just stated. Maybe I will relocate to Canada and get the free health insurance and spend most of my days in the sunny south too. But wait! I see where it is easier to immigrate to Canada from Asia that it is for an American? Wow! That kinda tells me really how Canadians view the gangster Americans. I see your friends say the USA sucks, tell them to stop using the American Internets and our slang words then. I am sure you would be most welcome anyplace here you choose.

No, your friends have it all wrong. Lots of countries dont like America and dont think they like them because they think America acts stuck up and full of themselves. Some Americans, may not like that some of the immigrants are illegal, but that doesn't mean the whole country is like that. For the most part, Americans dont mind the immigrants themselves, but hate that they immigrated illegally, and are taking their jobs and stuff like that. But if you are willing to work to become a citizen, and you want to become a citizen, America will help you every step of the way. Hope I helped you, and I hope one day you'll be an official U.S.A. citizen!

Quite a few of our singers and acters are from Canada ....Good luck

I think the average American is intrigued by Canadians. I think we look up to them. I have never heard an American say anything bad about Canadians and I am 68 years old. A lot of Canadians have become famous in America.

America now has 300 million people. To say that all Americans hate Canadians would be redicilus. It would be like saying all Canadians like Maple syrup. Most people are friendly, and the general additude toward Canadians is generally very positive. And in general Americans are positive toward immigrants. Just stay out of Texas! ;)

It is not true. Not all Americans dislike Canadians. Most of us are friendly, but we do have many problems. Immigration is not a problem, illegal immigration is a problem.
I just think it's not fair to those who work so hard to do it the legal way, that we just turn our heads when a lot do it illegally. It cheapens the efforts of those who wish to abide by the laws.
If you do decide to come here, Welcome to my country.

First I'd like to say. I have visited Canada and I loved it. It was one of the best vacations I'd gone on. The people in Vancouver were very friendly and I felt very safe there.
The immigration problems are more so with Mexico. Imagine if we went to the French side of Canada Illegally, and then DEMANDED your government let us stay, give us housing, give us a job, And give us welfare and health insurance all at the residents tax dollars. And lets not forget we are NOT going to learn French we want you to learn English and like it.
Instead of fighting for rights in our own country.
