According to hadith, it is true that if a person has a dog as a pet then angels will not enter the house. This is also true for statues as well. Now if you have a guard dog and it's outside and that is truly your intention then it's ok.

I am Muslim, and I think us Muslims have to be careful of all these "hadiths"---so called sayings of the Prophet. Now lets use reason here--when a human being dies, the Anegls have to come and take the soul..People die every day in their home, and dogs are sometimes in the home. The Angels have to go in and take that person I'm sure..and what about people who dont know that dogs should not be in the home? I just wish "hadiths" didnt take over Islam the way it has today.
By the way--I dont own a dog because I think its a not so clean animal. Peace

one million) Who instructed you Angels are 'scared' of dogs? 2) do you be attentive to the shar3ee definition of 3aam and khaas? 3) there is often no ingredient in addressing the likes of your self, and that i usually do not as certainly Imaam Ash-Shaafa3i spoke the reality whilst he reported each and every time he'd debate with somebody knowledgable he could triumph over them; yet each and every time he could debate with an ignorant individual he could lose - to paraphrase the meaning. that's extremely of a phenomenon we see dissimilar in recent times - it is, young babies who think of distinctly of their very own 'mind' - giving it lots credibility that throughout the eyes of their fellow ignoramouses they could carry some reckoning; while in the eyes of thos with information, they look silly. So what's the answer for those being inflicted by making use of the like of this individual's lack of awareness? - bypass away this web site. in case you bypass away, they gained't have an objective audience to cause them to sense wanted. - do not even enter their questions. this way you will not sense forced to respond; thereby not giving them proverbial oxygen to respire. And as regards the answer for those human beings themselves? Then it is upon them to be honest; and so some distance as we are in contact, we ask Allaah to furnish them mind, sincerity, and guidance to attractiveness of the reality - or could He harm their backs and rid the Muslims of them and their perverseness

yes it's true! you can own a dog as long as you keep it out of the place of worship/prayer.
the angel of mercy will not enter a place where dogs are kept.

True.
that's one of the reason, also Angels do not enter a house that has pictures OR statues of humans or animals. (natural view is fine).

Muslims should not keep dogs, unless its for security reasons or if you're blind.
Generally, its seen as a dirty animal -- regardless of how many anti-bacterial agents it has in its saliva.
