Muslims do not own dogs because angels will not enter the house?

Is it true that the reasons Muslims do not own dogs is because Gabriel did not visit Muhammed, as promised, because angels will not visit your home if you have dogs inside????

According to hadith, it is true that if a person has a dog as a pet then angels will not enter the house. This is also true for statues as well. Now if you have a guard dog and it's outside and that is truly your intention then it's ok.

I am Muslim, and I think us Muslims have to be careful of all these "hadiths"---so called sayings of the Prophet. Now lets use reason here--when a human being dies, the Anegls have to come and take the soul..People die every day in their home, and dogs are sometimes in the home. The Angels have to go in and take that person I'm sure..and what about people who dont know that dogs should not be in the home? I just wish "hadiths" didnt take over Islam the way it has today.

By the way--I dont own a dog because I think its a not so clean animal. Peace
