Teens have a lot of weird thoughts and experiments. This one will worry your parents and friends. Know that cutting is all about discovering your own power. As long as you are not obessed (indicating an addictive personality), you should be able to stop and move to a different less scary expression like tattooing.

Like you I experimented with cutting. I was fascinated with Amazons and rituals, etc. I quit when it began alienating me from my friends - I moved right into tattoos. I have about 5 and will probably get 2 more while I am young (when I get to be an old lady - we'll see what I do).

Take charge of yourself - feel and explore your power in less passive, childish, destructive ways. Tell you parents what it is, and what you are going to do about it - how you are grown up enough to move from destruction to construction.

Show them! I am/was a cutter and although I was able to conceil the cuts I was also hurting myself more. Now I have scars to remind me of every miserable moment that I lived with it alone. I am speaking from experience when I say that being alone with cutting is horrible and it DOES lead to much worse. I needed stiches many of times and then I eventually crashed. Show them the cuts and tell them you need Professional help, not theirs but a professionals. Some parents think they know what's best for a child but they only make things worse (sometimes). If you cannot show them or are afraid of what they will say or do, get yourself to your nearest hospital or therapist and show them! You have reached out here and we are all listening, please hear us too. Dial 211, it's the number to the info line, they can put you directly in touch with a professional who will Listen and advise you from there on. They do help, I know I have used this number many of times. Please be careful with your cutting, please!!!!

Tell them what had happened.Tell them a true one not a fake one.If you are in trouble and you speak up the matter to your parents, they might have an idea to help you.If you have being rob or anything else that is against the law, tell your parents and go to the police station together to report the matter if it is against the law.

I hate to say this, because it's the last thing you want to hear, but you need to talk to your parents about it. You are what shrinks call a "cutter", and that's not a good thing. There is a reason why you are cutting yourself, and you need to deal with that. Sweety, you CAN NOT live your life hurting yourself, believe me the world is cruel enough. Please deal with it now rather than later, it will only get worse.

I know all these people are saying get help and maybe you should.
But I personally don't think you should tell your parents, not unless their REALLY UNDERSTANDIND people.
I've been there, if you think you need help go get help. But you have to want the help.
Now for keeping them away from your parents, I would say braclets and lots of them!
Or get that lotion stuff that makes scars fade away

It isn't what you do when they see it...it is what THEY do when they see it. "cutters" cut themselves for all different reasons. Hopefully, together, you and your parents can get you the help you need to learn about why you do it and help you get better. Hang tough! and Hugs!

There is no reason to do this.
Depression or attention.
you need to act like an adult and sit and talk to them. let them know why and what is cuasing it. If you cant come to a conclusion with your mom and dad. you need to see a counsler!

Cut yourself on accident? If you did it on purpose, you NEED to tell someone and you NEED to get help. Sorry, it's that 'simple' .. You should not be hiding something this serious.

IF it was an accident, tell them.
