"HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is the virus that causes AIDS."
At least, that's the slogan that's been marketed all around the world for well over a decade. Is it true? Perhaps. But there's good reason to believe that we've spent BILLIONS of dollars and decades of research barking up the wrong tree. Whenever there's that much money (and political correctness) involved, decisions are bound to be made for selfish reasons.
Anyway, promiscuity and drug use are behaviours that put you at high risk of AIDS regardless of what the biological mechanism is. This is why AIDS spread so quickly in the gay community These behaviours also lead to many other problems physical, mental and spiritual.
So the best course of action is to avoid such stupid behaviour, don't you think? I took a close look at the ten commandments and then realized that they don't restrict us so much as they keep us out of the muck in life so that we can REALLY be free!

well, there are several viruses that cause HIV, but to actually progress to AIDS is not the same as HIV. You can be HIV positive for 20 years and not have AIDS yet. AIDS is where your body (you immune system) is extremely vulnerable to any type of bacteria, virus, etc, which is what people will ultimately die from. The HIV virus (es) are transmitted mainly by blood and transmission of body fluids.

or if ur mom/dad has aids
remember first u get HIV, then aids. HIV can be in remission for a long time, therefore not killing u if u take the right medication
aids will kill u, it's just a matter of when

the HIV virus.
AIDS is not a virus. It occurs when the virus ravages your immune system to the point where a secondary infection is the end of your life.
