Has your doctor considered that she might have pneumonia? Asthma? Bronchitis? I would take her back to the doctor and have him get a chest x-ray. It is better to be safe than sorry. It is coming in to the season for RSV. RSV is like a cold for us but when infants and toddlers get this it is much worse for them. My son had RSV, was in hospital for 5 days and then developed asthma from this, he is three now and still has to have breathing treatments at home every once in a while.
Also, something to consider is reflux. Reflux will make her cough as well. Try holding her as upright as possible for at least 30 to 45 minutes after all bottles. If this helps the coughing then you will know.
I hope this information helps. Make your doctor do something. In the meantime try the last thing I said for a day or so. But absolutely go back to the doctor.
Good luck!!

Nana McCroby's Cough and Throat Remedy
Ingredients:
Onions
Water
Sugar
Directions:
Chop several onions until you have about 1-1/2 cups, the finer the better. Put in a quart jar. Cover with water to about 1/2 inch over the top. Add about 2 Tablesoons sugar and stir briskly.
The first dose:
Take a Tablespoon and holding the jar slightly on its side, press into the mixture to fill the spoon but taking in no onions, only the juice.
Succeeding doses: Stri well. You may have to press a little harder with the spoon, as you are using up the liquid, but continue to take 1 Tablespoonful every hour.
If you run out of the mixture, you can add a little water, but it will be far weakened. What works here is the oil from the onion coats your throat. If you have a whole houseful of sick kids, better to make several recipes as needed, so it stays fresh. Will keep for a couple of days on the counter top.

No home remedy here, but a safe one. Mucinex for kids is a great medicine. It contains guaifenesin, that loosens up mucus, so that her coughs will be productive and clear out the crud in her chest. Ask the doc 1st. Include lots of water as well.

Look into oil of oregano. It's a powerful anti-bacerial, anti-viral, anti-fungus natural remedy. It is also good for respiratory conditions. You need to confirm with your Dr. on whether or not it is too strong for a 4 month old baby to take orally, but you can apply it topically to the throat and chest...just mix it with a little olive oil.

My child was doing that and he is now 7 and will still do it. I found out he was an asmatic! Might need to be tested. Or have a chest xray done to see if it is Pneumonia, expecially since they are 4 months old!

A home medicine I learned with my grandmother for caughing:
put one glass of water in a small pan and a table spoon of vinegar. Let it boil. Take it out of the stove and breath the vapor. You only have to be careful not no burn your face. Got to bed after that and warm yourself.
Honey and lime juice is also bood. In Brazil we find in natural stores honey with pineapple extract. It is also very good to treat persistent caugh.
Neither of those has any side effect.

Feed him some raspberry jam. They use that in Eastern Europe and, quite surprisingly, it often works.
