As a Pastor I enjoy both equally.
I agree with your little joke. In our Church the music is usually thumpin, and the preachin is usually jumpin.

For the first time in my entire life I've found a church where I cannot say I prefer one over the other. Every Sunday morning is like going to a concert (of course, I live in Nashville TN and most of the musicians and singers ARE professionals) and the message is not at all like being "preached at". I hang on every word and am bummed when it's over. I used to hate church, now I can hardly wait until Sunday mornings.

Our music is awesome and the preacher is better. I love hearing the word of God, but the praise and worship music we have makes me feel so close to God.

In fact, I can't wait until tomorrow morning now!

I like them both. Sometimes the music blesses me more and other times the sermon will knock my socks off. Either way is good just so long as God is there

I think the most important part is the message to get to know God better. I do enjoy the music more but thats not why i go...its all for Him. happy thanksgiving!

The music is fine but my pastor is a fantastic teacher. I’m always eager for the sermon to start.

I enjoy both, honestly. Better than those, though, I enjoy having God come near. My favorite time is true worship (not necessarily music, you know) when we're focusing on God and Who He really is, and prayer.

I like both the word and the praise. The difference between them both is the singing is to worship and praise the Lord for all he has done for us, and the preaching is to teach us how to live fulfilling life to please God...
