Self hypnosis, simply reprogramming the faulty programming in your mind. Hypnosis can take two or three weeks to fully work, sometimes it works the first time. There are many websites that sell downloadable MP3, shop around since the prices vary greatly. Best of luck.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is a mental illness that is characterized usually by unwanted thoughts that produce a great deal of anxiety followed by ritualistic behavior used to relieve the anxiety of the unwanted thoughts....For example, if you fear contamination or fear contracting a certain disease, you may begin washing your hands constantly and I mean as much as 100 times a day, usually in a particular pattern. You may have to count as you do it. Ultimately the way you wash your hands has to be done just right or your hands don't feel "right" or clean and you have to do it over again. It can consume hours of your day. It affects your social life....you find yourself hiding that part of yourself from loved ones....you may begin opening doors with your elbows, counting in patterns, all sorts of things to avoid becoming contaminated.

I know this because I have suffered from OCD since I was 5. I cannot control it and I have done nothing to cause it. I can say that pregnancy does make the condition worse as it causes postpartum OCD. Hormonal changes make the condition worse. You cannot control OCD in my opinion; it controls you.

You can try cognitive therapy where you see a therapist and try to use desensitization as a way to break free of the cycle.

There was different forms of OCD as well. There is also a Pure O form where you strictly suffer from obsessive thoughts that cloud you mind and run through your head almost constantly but there are no rituals to relieve the anxiety.....thus the term pure "O"...

I hope this information helps. I don't know why you would want to know if there is a way to cause OCD on purpose. It has made my life a living nightmare. I tried countless drugs to treat it only to find that they all made me sick. It affected my ability to bond with my children when they were born because I was crippled by my disorder....OCD takes on a life of its' own.....

I truthfully have had my money owed of OCD. the suitable factor i think of, is stress your self to do regardless of is uncomfortable. i understand that isn't the suitable way, yet I used to slap myself gently on the face every time I did something OCD or exhibited that habit, and after a pair of month or 2, i finished thinking compulsively.

OCD,in it's most severe form is one of the worst psychiatric afflictions that you can have...why would you want to "cause" it?
