Just repainted my ensuite bathroom and all the trim (towel rack, countertops, mirror frame, light switches, electricity outlet, air vent, fan, floor tiles, etc.) are all nice and white ... except for the toilet roll holder, which is a silver chrome colour.

It really stands out and looks ugly, and I'd like to have it match the rest of the room. Removing it isn't an option, as it's pretty much cemented into the wall, so I would like to paint over the chrome and make it white, like everything else, but I'm not sure what the best way to do so is. What kind of paint should I use? Do I need a primer? Should I sand down the toilet roll holder first?

Any advice greatly appreciated, thanks!

please note: I cannot remove it. It's literally cemented into the wall and would make a huge, huge mess to remove, not to mention I'd have to caulk, poly-fill, sand and repaint the entire wall if I did. I don't want to remove it, I want to paint over it. Thanks! :)

First prime. Two coats if you can. Then spray paint. I did mine with a hammered finish spray paint. Has lasted 10 years. People are amazed when I tell them it's paint.

If this is adult men, it heavily isn't finished, till the cleanser is going in. My husband particularly prefers to "stability" the hot rest room roll on proper of the tube from the old one than to alter it over! My son, who's 6 is interior the belief he's the Andrex puppy long previous incorrect and likes to flow away patches of loo roll (unused luckily) on the washing room floor - particularly why, I shall under no circumstances be conscious of. this is consistently left to me, no remember if this is ladies, placed an excellent verify in, "FOR GOD'S SAKES YOU LAZY MOOS, substitute the rest room ROLL in case you employ THE final!!" That small hint could only help?

USE 80 SAND PAPER AND BE SURE TO PUT PRIMER ON FIRST. THE KIND FOR METAL. AT THAT POINT YOU CAN PUT ANY TYPE OF PAINT ON YOU WANT, BUT THE TRUTH IS THAT IT WOULD BE CHEAPER TO BUY A NEW ONE
GOD BLESS
