My cat has diarrhea. and we arent sure what to do about it. shes an outdoor farm cat, and shes maybe about 7 years old. but she has bad diarrhea. It is like, on her tail and back of her legs. and we arent sure what to do about it. we feed her dry food. i think she might be dehydrated a little...Winter is getting really close. we have 4 other cats and none of them are sick, other than a winter cold(which the cats normally have this time of year.) She is fixed..um i dont know what else to tell you. but if anyone has any suggestions on what to do....please tell me.........
Oh and I know that taking her to the vet would be a good idea, but we wanted to sea if their were any other suggestions besides that, that could help us. Thanks.

Taking her to the vet is the only thing you can do.

Diarrhea that lasts more that 24 hours can be life threatening as it can cause dehydration that can lead to vital organs shutting down.

It's possible that she ate something that is working on her system.

If she is dehydrated, the only thing to do is give the vet a call. There is a strong possibility that he'll have to administer fluids to her.

He may tell you to hold off feeding her for a day, then slowly introduce food to her in small quantities over the course of the next few days. Usually it's boiled chopped meat (or chicken) and cooked rice. Some Pepto might be able to be given, you'll need to call them for the amount as it is given to animals by their weights.

If she isn't better by the morning (diarrhea is still happening), she'll need to be see immediately.

Hope everything works out.

Is she up to date on shots? Has she been checked for FIV/FIP, this is similiar to aids in humans. Being an outdoor cat, you really can't say all she eats is dry food. There is definite dehydration going on. She NEEDS subQ fluids to rehydrate her. You can try some KAOPECTATE only. No other not Immodium or pepto only Kaopectate is non-fatal for cats. Their liver will accept that. The dosage is 1-2ml. by mouth every 2-6 hrs. in layman terms, i'm sure she's not too big, so I would say that breaks down to approx. 1-2 teaspoons. Be safe, go with the least first. Hope it helps.

hard to say really.. the vet honestly is your best solution...if their is blood in the stool its very important she see a vet.. or if its explosive diarrhea.. which it sounds like it might be...
it will burn her skin too and cause her pain - it could be the other cats are sick too just she is showing the symptoms sooner than them or more extreme..

Take her to a good Veterinarian and explain what's wrong with her. She is getting a little old and sometimes things just start to go wrong.
