I've been looking for some free trials, so far, the other ones keep talking about CS2. So I really need some help.

This does not necessarily address your question, but consider an open source software like GIMP

Photoshop users will generally hate GIMP at first because it does things in a different way and is akin to having the sounds of a piano come from an instrument played like a guitar. However if you are not already trained in Photoshop you will find that GIMP can do most anything that Photoshop can. It is free (as in free beer and free speech) and you can use it on many operating systems aside from Windows and Mac OS X, such as the various Linux distros and BSD.

Hello,
I work as a web designer and photoshop is my favourite professional tool. With photoshop you can edit images, retouch pictures, make collages, apply cool effects, etc. No doubts it's the world leading photo editing software for professionals. If you are a newbie photoshop it's still a good option: you can use it quite easily to do basic things (resize and crop images, change colors, ecc.). You can get a copy of the program here http://j.mp/1p33Zol

I have the CS 5.5 pack and i got it when it first came out. It is very good and i would suggest it, but that's not your problem, For you i would suggest getting it now ive done some research and the new 6 is not that much better, and if you have to get 6 later in life it would be about $500 to upgrade without the student teacher price.
