Have you thought about hiring a pet sitter? That way the dog can stay at home where it will be happier and more comfortable.

We are going camping in a few weeks, and I am going to board my Great Dane at my vet. They know him there, and he knows them. Look for a kennel that offers indoor/outdoor runs...then ask for references to call...if they don't give reference, don't take you dogs there. If you leave them at home, have someone stay at your house...I sit for friends of mine (same neighborhood) and I get up extra early to go over and let them out in the morning...they finally installed a doggy door!!!!...You may come home to a mess if you sitter does not keep your schedule...that is why we are boarding at the vet.
