Say, "I want a puppy or I'll tell the IRC about that little incident last tax day!"
They'll understand then...

The best thing is to just ask them. If they say NO ask them why. My son I knew wouldn't take care of a puppy. They demand a lot of time. Usually Mom and Dad end up taking care of the puppy. Most children forget how much work it takes for parents to take care of them, the house, their jobs, etc. So a puppy sometimes can be a bit to much for Mom & Dad. However a pet is a beautiful thing they can be a good part of anyones life. If you really want a puppy you should make a deal with your parents and work out some details so you all get to share in the care of the puppy. This way no one person has the total care of the puppy...Good luck with your parents and the puppy...

you cannot.. and typically this is a good thing
any pet should be a familiy pet - the problem with parents buying pups for kids is that at some point the kid grows up and moves away or goes to College.. the parents are then stuck wiht a pet they dont want and often dump it or put it down (telling the kid it went to a nice farm or some such crap)
if you want a puppy then save your money - grow up - move out - get a house - get a puppy...

you should NEVER NEVER buy a puppy from a pet store -you pay too much for a low quality puppy and contribute to a cruel industry called puppy mills.. best to adopt one from a shelter.. or get from a breeder

but really unless your parents want a dog ... dont stress them out further - they are the ones who would have to accept a LIFETIME commitment and pay the bills and buy the food ... its their choice its their house.. its their money - not yours

You have to show that you are responsible enough to care for one. Do you keep yyour room clean and help with chores around the house? If you do not, then you are not responsible enough to care for a pet. A dog has to be fed, walked, cleaned up after, bathed, etc. Start helping around the house would be the first step, and not just once a week. Do it every day, then they may be more willing to get you a puppy.

First of all grow up. We all know that you will take care of the puppy until it grows up and then you will lose interest in it and then it well be up to mom and dad to care for it. I say this as a parent

This is an easy question to answer but not so easy to accept i guess.. You cannot make your parents buy you a dog and they will have thier reasons for not wanting one. But could you volunteer for a local SPCA or animal shelter? That way you are helping many many dogs get some love and attention

Begg, and keep on talking about your new puppy, and keep on begging until they give in. Good luck!! My parents gave in on Christmas Day, my Dad brought home a puppy he had hidden in his coat, and us kids were thrilled.

Beg them every second you get!! Show them having something around will give companionship for the whole family. If you are looking to get a puppy I would recommend a Manchester terrier or golden retriever they are great pets that live a long time and rarely have medical problems and are great family dogs Manchester's can be show bred to [that means bred for shows like EUKANEBA,IAMS,BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS those are all dog shows] Have fun persuading your parents to get a puppy!!!!!!!
