You never saw who did it, and if you looked out the window, no one was to be seen. There is a big hole in the window, and the part brick was inside the room. No one was physically hurt.
No one has reason to dislike you. What practical steps do you take? And how do you react?
Stupid Yahoo thinks this question is entertainment.

Though you can take it either way, I was thinking of a house/flat/appartment window rather than a car

Stare at the brick for few minutes......... Say a few curse words......... Replace all my glass windows with cardboard or "brick-proof" windows.

Sorry this happened to you and I bet you feel violated. It was probably some punk and I hope for your sake it is random and won't happen again. Well, practically, I would tell your neighbors what happened and ask them to let you know if they see "strangers" walking around the neighborhood, or anything suspicious, and you can do the same for your neighbors. It's the Neighborhood Watch thing. This punk (or punks) might be spotted. Who knows? Maybe someone around the block had the same thing happen by this punk. Call the police and try to file a report. Get an alarm system or see if you can put an alarm "sign" out to make that person think you have one and think twice about doing it again. I know this is too expensive to even think about, but if it happens more than once, you might want to call a detective or somebody about temporary video surveillance. That's only practical if you have money. Again, I am sorry this happened to you and I'd be upset if it hapened to me.

Call the police ASAP..... The fact they threw a brick thru the window is assault. That person did not know if there was a baby crib sitting there or a person or animal that could have been killed. There could be fingerprints on the brick so don't touch the brick and let the police know right now

first thing to do is call the police, cos though some kid may have seen it as a bit of fun, its criminal damage, dont touch the brick as the police might get evidence off it, then call either your landolord if in rented accomodation, or a glaziers if you own the property, get the window boarded and secure ASAP, if you dont any home insurance you have will be null and void, as it would be if you did not inform the police. ps having been through this, the first reaction is panic in case another brick comes flying, so i know the feeling.

well, i actually had that happen. only there was a bottle of an acid ink mixture tied to the brick, and the mixture was also poured over the car stripping the paint all the way down to the metal (the dude he repainted it said he had never seen anything that actually did that in the way it did, everywhere it touched the paint was completely gone). anyway, i called the cops, they drove around the neighborhood periodically, down our street seeing if weird stuff was happening. that's it. all i could do.

oh, and all you "trace the fingerprints" that only works if their fingerprints are in the database, not if its some stupid reckless teenagers who don't think things through until after it happens. we had a brick and a waterbottle to work with, and nothing. and all we ever got out of our neighbors was that their dog barked about the time that it happened.

Well throwing bricks is entertaining. J.k.
Here is my real answer...
call the police, move, sleep in a different room, freak out, put bars over your window.
I would personally be freaking out.

After jumping a mile high and yelling and/or cursing I'll call the cops and report flying bricks.

After I calmed down from the shock..............................
I would call the police to get a report of the incident, then call my homeowners insurance to have it replaced if it was an expensive window, or just call a window replacement company to get a new window if homeowners wouldn't cover it. Then move on with my life as usual.

Did you like my brick? It was a pretty brick, wasn't it? I named it Sally!

I used to use it as a paper weight, but since I burned all of my papers, I thought someone like you could better use it.

Treat her with kindness and feed her twice daily! She likes gravel (the small kind)!

I like eggs!

You have a problem with someone,
youve done something or said something to someone and it has been passed on to the person that threw the brick
Get the window repaired and then sit down and think about what you have said or done !!!!
