How would you like it if you left something at someone's house like what they left and they never called you about it, how would that make you feel, and you really wanted that back. I say never keep it cause that would be stealing. Never keep it. Call them right away.

Almost immediately after you find out whose belongings were left at your house, you should contact that person. If that person never shows up to pick it up or asks for it back, then you can keep it.
If you don't let them know then that would be very close to stealing.

I would let them know that they left the item and offer to mail it to them, but absolutely make an effort to return the item. Think of the Golden Rule, if you leave something you would want it back.

Wow! They may be looking for it and not know they left it at your place. Hopefully you will do the right thing and return it. Your loyalty is questionable and hopefully your guest will realize that sooner than later. You definitely want to treat others as you wish to be treated. WWJD

If you don't act with honor and choose to return it, you are as much a thief as though you had premeditatedly stolen it. The only thing you have that no one can take from you is your integrity. It's a choice you make.

mention that you found it and ask them if they want you to mail it to them or just hang on to it till they come back.

I would hate to have forgotten something someplace later to find out that someone I thought was a friend had kept it with out telling me.. thats low

You are sopposed to call them up and tell them they left it. What kind of house guest would steal from their guests by pretending they didnt know their belongings were still there? How old are you? THOU SHALL NOT STEAL

An honest person will call them or wait if they cannot be contacted. A dishonest person will definitely keep it for real.

Do you really have to ask this question?

You should call them and tell them they left it at your place and arrange for the return of the item.

Where is your personal integrity?

Call them and tell them they left it. They can either come and pick it up or I bring it to them the next time I'm going to meet them.
