I know it sounds silly but find something you really love and do it to get your mind off of whatever is getting you anxious. I suffer the same thing and find that certain comedies do the trick.

I take a 300mg pill of magnesium citrate everyday that I get from a vitamin shop - works pretty well for my anxiety attacks, and I noticed its been making me sleep better as well.

I don't want to scare you but, it might not be a piece of cake!! It needs to be treated! Okay. Relaxation. You should do breathing exercises daily..whether you need them or not. When I am having a panic attack (also called anxiety attacks) I get really hot and sweaty and feel like I am going to throw up. If you feel like that, yes you are having a panic attack and you should place a could rag on your head.
Everyone is different, so what works for me, might not work for you.
Email me if you have more questions!

Hi there, I just laugh about my past 3 years of panic now. I was not able to go anywhere without carrying xanax. Fear of having another attack was the most important subject of my days. When i first found joe barry's web site i started to cry because of my happiness.

Firstly, only your doctor should advise you on any medications that you should take for anxiety.
Try this:-Firstly,face the situation that is making you anxious.Secondly, accept that you're feeling anxious, and that it will pass. Finally, let go of the desire to get rid of your anxious feelings.
Fighting,or focusing on anxiety only makes it worse.Try to distract yourself as much as possible from thinking about it.

I would recommend yoga - hatha or kundalini or flow yoga
would be best. Take a yoga class right away. It has lots of breathing which is also good in controlling anxiety.

I'm on lexapro and it REAAAAAALY helps. Before I was on lexapro, I was easily irritated, annoyed, I was paranoid a bit, cried easily. I don't know much of another way for me to be 'well'. Course, I've had three kids, a uterine ablation, and I"m 32. .. could be hormones in my case.
I suggest you try lexapro. Good luck :)
