I have no problem paying a fine and or jail, I made a mistake , but 18 months , wirhout even a restricted license! Any good advise would be GREATLY appreciated. Please no dont drink and drive answers. I no longer will in this police state. Thank You Also are thier any organizations that I can join to help reform our laws? I already vote, its not enough!

That is how law defines that, if you were tried in a common pleas court, you could try to appeal your case, if that doesn't work, you need to try to get though it, after all :if you cant do the time, don't do the crime! I work in a police office and since you have been sentenced to rehabilitation, your stuck with it. I hate to say it, but there really isn't anything you can do, but appeal.

You have a lot to learn. You say you won't reoffend in this police state. What if you move to a different state? Will you do it there. You need to realize that you shouldn't drink and drive because you could KILL someone. The fine and inconvenience of having to get a ride are nothing compared to that. My advice is to pay a friend or family member to be your taxi for the next 18 months while you learn to grow up and take responsibility for what you did, instead of blaming your problems on the police that caught you.

there is nothing you can do. DUI laws are harsh because it is the most avoidable kind of offense, but no one think to do so. Now that you were caught you won't drink and drive again, but if you had not been caught that night, would you consider doing it again? The laws are in place for a reason and we all must serve the consequences for the laws we break. Most courts don't consider hardships from DUI as hardships, because of the hardships that are created everyday from DUI drivers who didn't care enough to not drive. You're screwed, get used to the bus.

It could be worse...you could have killed somebody..Then you would not have to worry about going to work and paying bills..you will have a cot, 3 meals a day and free exercise and medical care. If they gave you a restricted license...then what good is the law to begin with. Then ALL people who get arrested will expect to be able to get a restricted license..whether it's a good excuse or not. If you get a 3rd DUI, you lose your license PERMANATELY and go to jail...

sounds like you picked a pretty bad rehab, ask the counselor what options are availiable to you in this matter.if that doesnt work, mention it at the A/A meeting(ask at more than one place) someone I'm sure knows what your going thru and how to get through it and get one.One other try is to ask the judge and bring a character and proof of non use(test results from the treatment center) and see if he can issue a hardship restricted license

Welcome to the biggest legal scam going these days. In Illinois you are able to get a hardship license for purposes of traveling to and from work only, I would think Calif has one too.

You probably hate hearing this word again but a good lawyer SPECIALIZING IN DUIs would know.

Was this your first DUI ? If so, I believe you can get a special licence to drive between such and such a time for "WORK" purposes only. Talk to your D.A. he will know the best answer of advice.

Its called a hardship license for school and work only.
what laws do you want to reform. you drove drunk, its your fault, accept the fact that you messed up.
you can always report the counselers for not staying on track.
