I know...they're ALL pretty absurd...but what is absolutely the most ludicrous, unreasonable, irrational, senseless, dim-witted argument that you've come across?
I think my favorite is: If EVERYBODY was gay, the human race would go extinct!
That's about as logical as saying that we shouldn't allow anybody to become...say, veterinarians, because if EVERYBODY wanted to be a veterinarian, there would be no farmers, and we'd all starve to death!
Don't forget to explain WHY, please!

Esther: it's in "religious" because I anticipated that many of the answers would have to do with religion.

Dellajoy: That's just really sad, but unfortunately true I mean, it's true that a lot of people think that way. Our culture seems to be so thick with stereotypes that reality can't shine through...

alex_azender: That's another of my favorites. I'm surprised that Christian fundamentalists haven't thrown a bigger fit about not being able to burn or drown "witches" just because of that one stupid little bible verse.

Lady Albritton: We obviously have a difference of opinions here: I can't understand how you think it's absurd for someone to defend the way they are by saying that "I was born this way." I wasn't born gay and neither, apparently, were you; who are we to judge whether it's possible for someone to be born that way? To me it seems almost like shrugging off the notion that someone was born blind: "I wasn't born that way so how could you possibly have been?" You're not in their shoes; you can't possibly know.

Probably the "God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve" one. This argument totally overlooks the fact that God created hermaphrodites. And anyone who believes that God creates humans, will have to agree that God created hermaphrodites, because they were born that way. So obviously the Adam and Eve story does not cover all the people that God created.

The way to settle a disagreement is not by finding the most absurd version of your opponent's argument, but by trying to find out what- if anything- their real point might be. I apologize for not answering your stated question, but I'd rather give you something real instead.
As a society, we have not yet fully realized that a person with a secret is more dangerous than a person who is open and honest, but we are starting to learn. The congressman who flirted with congressional pages was in the closet. If he had felt comfortable enough to be openly gay, he probably wouldn't have abused his office.
I'm a heterosexual man. I hear other guys talk about gays. I could really care less about someone's sexuality. I only care about whether or not people are nice. But when the guys talk, they talk about child molestation and about promiscuity. It isn't so much that they don't like homosexuals. They don't like people that they feel they can't trust. They don't like people that they think are dishonest. What gays need to do is to be honest about their sexuality in a non-confrontational way so that they can be accepted on the same level as others. Don't try to say that being gay makes you better than a straight person. That's dumb. That doesn't help anything.
Would you like to discuss gays and church? Straight people don't talk about sex in church. Why should we have to listen to talk about gay sex in church?
Do you want to talk about marriage? If not for raising babies with a Mommy and a Daddy, WTF is marriage for? Life insurance? I don't care about who wants to make a lifetime commitment to who else and it isn't up to me to tell anyone who they can or can't commit to, but What For?
You will also not win any support by claiming that homosexuality is genetic since all humans- scratch that all animals that reproduce sexually have one male and one female parent.
If you want to get to the other side of the argument, tell the truth and listen to the truth. If you want the argument to continue indefinitely, keep looking for absurd things that no intelligent person actually says. That's called a "straw man" argument.
peace and blessings to you

There could nicely be societal pressures against it that are actually not in step with faith. In Japan homosexuals are not ostracized or persecuted, however the subculture does see it as a infantile experimentation and that homosexuals could basically improve up and get a actual relatives.

The most absurd thing I've ever heard is that "It's natural for some people to be gay and not others". Weird, huh? Everyone is gay.

A lot of people have the misconception that a guy who likes guys is also a pedophile. My mother once questioned me about allowing my daughter to spend time with the gay brother of one of my bf's when she was 6....The guy took his nephew (my bf's son) and my daughter shopping for Christmas one time.

Pretty much any argument that drags in bible quotes. I wouldn't limit that to arguments just about homosexuality, either. I always have to roll my eyes whenever anyone tries to use bible quotes to justify anything.

cant think of any , all the arguments against gays are true, they are child molesters--ask the catholic boys, ,now men that are getting millions of dollars in compensation, from the church for being molested by gay priests.

that being gay itself is okay as long as we don't have sex, ever, as long as we live--it's like saying that if you like to have sex with the woman on top, you should never ever do that because it's against the bible--think that would ever fly in the real world?
