Managua, Nicaragua???

Question

I love to travel in Central and South American and - believe it or not - have heard great things about Managua, Nicaragua... and lago Nicaragua and the Pacific coast. Does anyone have any travel experience in these areas? Any recommendations? Should I consider going? What fun things are there to do there?

I wen to Nicaragua twice this year and i enjoyed my time there. I visited Lake Nicaragua or Cocibolca, Juigalpa, Chinandega, Masaya etc. One of the things that i liked about Nicaragua is the fact that Dollars go a long way. It is a lot cheaper than Costa Rica. I didn't spend time in Managua, i like smaller cities.
I would suggest that you go there and spent a lot of money. Nicaraguans will be grateful. LOL

i went to managua like 4 times because i have family there, and i can tell you that te lake of nicaragua is awesome there are like 300 little islands in the lake but there are to little theres only space just like for one house so the rich people build houses there it looks incredible! i recomend it for you. and sorry about my english but i talk spanish.

have not been any of those places myself but drove through nicarauga once when i was a kid with my parents. seemed nice but not much around. a good friend tell me once that managua is very nice and progressive but to stick to the city centre cuz there are bad parts of town,, have not heard much about the coasts but supposedly there are two active volcanoes in the lake on islands.

I've never been there, but it is said to be one of the safest places. It is also said to be relatively cheap for entertainment with clubs and casinos.
