I thought i heard once that if you get another credit card approved by the same company that you had before that they can then transfer all the balance you had previously to this card now and make you pay for it ? any info would be appreciated

In the US It is actually illegal and you could sue them.

Not in Canada, if that helps. Once a person declares bankruptcy all debts are wiped out. This status stays on your financial records for 7 years before it too disappears. If you manage to get another credit card after declaring bankruptcy, same company or not, they'd have no idea about the previous debt or the bankruptcy after the 7 years. If U were really lucky and got a credit card before the 7 years they still can't add on the old balance. The old balance is written off by the credit company on their taxes.

i bet they will try. don't get one from the same company. better yet don't get one at all. i bet that is one of the reasons you had to declare bankruptcy!!!
