Because chickens don't have hands otherwise they would carry them. And they don't have apposable thumbs. lol

No. The eggs are merely symbolic. They represent a new birth, probably a Biblical referrance to Jesus who supposedly was resurrected on a day that people have attached Easter to. Just to let you know, Easter was originally a pagan holiday and Christians later turned it into a celebration of the resurrection.
