Homemade jelly and jam is always nice. It makes a large batch so you've got several jars for co-workers, friends, etc. There are so many flavors you can make - champagne, mint, and wine, along with the traditional fruit flavors. And unlike cookies, it doesn't get stale. People can keep it and use it after the holidays. And you can make it now and it will stay nice for a long time if it's canned properly. It's not too hard to do, just make sure the jars are sterile and the wax is properly applied on top.

(Since you put this in "Cooking & Recipes" I am guessing you wanted a food item for your answer! If not, sorry!)

I make lots of different candies at Christmas, I always make lots extra and buy cheap little plastic storage tubs with Christmas decorations on it. Then put a little of everything in it, you can put wax paper between layers to keep from sticking.

I would try fudge. It freezes very well. So you can freeze until Christmas and then start handing it out. Same thing goes for most breads. Pumpkin bread, Banana Nut, Cranberry etc They all freeze well. I tend to make fudges and breads for Christmas gifts and people love them :)

Go to Hobby Lobby or the like and get some cute little xmas tins, about a cup size, with a top. Now go to the store and buy real butter, honey , Cinnamon, garlic, mixed herbs. Anyway you get the message. Go home and mix up honey butter, Cinnamon butter.....so on which ever one or ones that you want to give . People just love them....

You could always start making Christmas cookies now, and freeze them. You can freeze the dough, or freeze the baked cookie. Butter cookies are awesome. They stay crisp and fresh tasting for over a month.

Make cookies or other sweet treats and put them in tins to give to your friends or family. They will probably love that you took extra time to make something for them.
Good luck!!
