I REALLY WANT ONE

Do some research,find a local shelter and look at dogs in need of good homes,wait a couple weeks and save up your allowances and then ask your parents if you can donate it to that shelter,that will show
A)Your responsible Enough and can found for a dog
B)That this is a really important cause and it matters to you
and
C)that you are not jocking about this.....
{but not in a snooty way}
Simply say things over the family table like,
1:I heard about this animal shelter that just rescued some puppy's from a puppy mill......
2; some body at school just had a litter of puppy,she said they were born last week and just started opening
or if you recently lost a pet, say something like.....
Mommy/Daddy
I REALLY miss _________,
I am so lonely w/o __________
I'm scared w/o _______ to protect me!

Well, if they do not want a dog right now, there's no way to MAKE them change their mind. You cannot always get what you want, when you want it. Most you can do, is ask your parents, if there is anything you can do, to prove you are ready and responsible enough for a dog.
P.S. Parents have the final say, even if you say it's your dog. When you get old enough to move out, my bet is that the dog will stay with the parents.....therefore the parents are the ones that have to care for that animal from the beginning, paying for the adoption fee, and healthcare.

THEY don't want a dog. It's bad enough you accidentally came into their life!

Seriously? You have to start with a fish or something and work your way up. Or show that you are serious by doing all the chores they ask.. or go further if you have to... bargain with them.. offer to do extra chores in return for having a puppy. Only get a puppy if they agree to let you bring it to puppy class and two other classes. And work with the puppy for ever and ever and ever the first year. It will pay off and you'll have a best friend for ever and ever :)

If you aren't financially independent, you're just going to have to wait until you are.
Your parents know that dogs are expensive and they are a huge responsibility and they don't want anything to do with it.

ok make sure that you just dont go directly to the point when you are talking to them. start with something like: sre its lonely in here. or like hey mom how is your day you know i really think that our house is kind of quite most of the times dont you think so. and then go to the subject SLOWSLY then dont beg then be sirious tell them that you would do WHAT YOU CAN to take care of the dog. and that you will be really thankfull to them if thy get you one well i hope you get the dog.:)

well i have dogs and cats since i was born. they taught me about responsibility, and also brought great joy to my life,. they are great family friends and companions, they are loyal and true and love you no matter what. i have never known a life without a pet. you would be a great pet Mommy! hope you can change your parents mind and they would eventually love the pet too! good luck sweetie!

UMM, well...i want a new puppy too...but my mom says we need to fix our fence..so gah! idk, lol, but u can say u will be the one to take care of it everyday =]

give them puppy eyes and say please for however long it takes them to crack! LOL that is what my sis said!
