There are a couple of adult stray cats that have taken up residence on my porch. I can't tell how old they are, but they're not geriatrics by any means. I can NOT afford to keep them, myself. :( I already have a [strictly indoor] cat that I don't want exposed to the "nasties" that the outdoors harbors, so I can't let the strays inside to get warm. It's all I can do to keep my own kitty healthy & happy. Both strays are declawed & probably neutered. They're both yellow tabbys. The male is very lovable & vocal. The female is a bit standoffish, as female cats are, & is polydactile. I don't want these kitties going ferrel & dieing a horrible winter death because of someone else's deliberate stupidity by neglecting them. I'd like to find GOOD "forever" homes for these two ASAP. If I can't by the time it starts freezing at night all the time, I'll have no choice but to take them to the pound. You know what will happen to them there!!! NOT good!!!

If you can help plz email me.

I'm already in the process of contacting area cat rescue groups that I know of in an effort to keep these two waifs OUT of the pound.

Missouri State Law says that if one feeds and waters an animal for at least three days in a row it then belongs to one. Therefore these two now belong to me because I've been seeing to it that they've been fed & watered for several weeks now.

Look for local rescues & no-kill shelters......they DO exist. The ''pound'' isn't always the last resort.

ok first of all legally you cannot give away any cat you do not own and have not reported finding
call your local shelter first and report finding them.. if they are declawed there is a good possiblity they were microchipped - a vet can tell or the shelter probably has a scanner -
then the original owner can be traced
unfortunately neighbours often steal offending cats and dump them in other cities or other parts of town.. your shelter may have a LOST report on the cats - main thing is its better to find their real owners than to try to find them new owners
good luck...
also thanks for naming where you live - most people dont even give their country - sorry I cannot help already have 6 cats...
