Can you explain to me (using credible references if you so wish) to the worldwide flood that occured when God smited the earth due to man-kinds wickedness? What depositional evidence is there that is common to the terrain of the earth regardless of country/continent?
18And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters.
19And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.
20Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.
21And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:
22All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.

Wondering when the ICR website was going to come up.
If you read the artical properly you will then understand that even the ICR's version of events (and even re-doing of the geological history) doesnt fit in with a worldwide model.

The major problem with the creationist argument of this worldwide flood is that there is no possible way the Noah could have held all 6 billion species on a single ark and then distribute them such that the marsupials are all in Australia and so on.

According to this link the interpretation of the flood being "world wide" is incorrect. http://www.godandscience.org/apologetics/localflood.html
Here's an excerpt for you....
We see that in the tenth month, the mountains became visible to Noah (Genesis 8:5). Some 40+ days later (Genesis 8:6), Noah sent a dove out of the ark (Genesis 8:8). However, the dove was unable to land because of all the water (Genesis 8:9). Then, the text tells us that water was "on the surface of all the earth." This is obviously a bad translation of kol erets, since we know that the water had not covered the mountains for at least 40 days. The context makes it clear that kol erets must refer to local geography and should be translated as the "all the land" or "all the ground." In fact, all our major English translations (NASB, NIV, KJV, etc.) make this same error. It is no wonder that people who read the English translation of the Bible "literally" come to the conclusion that the flood must have been global. However, it is apparent that our English "translations" of the Genesis flood text are more than just "translations," but actually interpretations (and probably incorrect ones at that).

Did the flood really happen? Yes. Jesus said in Matt. 24:37-39 that the flood happened. If you can't trust Jesus, you can't trust anyone. As far as physical evidence goes there are numerous sedimentary deposits world wide which suggest a universal flood. There are countless fossil deposits world wide (For fossilization to occur organisms must be buried rapidly with sediment.). Every major culture has a flood legend. Of over 200 flood legends, 95% say the flood was universal; 70% say survival depended upon a boat; 66% say the wickedness of man was the cause; 88% say there was a favored family; 66% say the remnant was warned; 67% say animals were also saved; 57% say the survivors ended up on a mountain; 35% say birds were sent out; 9% say eight people were saved; and 7% mention a rainbow.
Is there enough water to flood the entire earth? Absolutely! If the earth were perfectly spherical the oceans would cover all the land by more than a mile in depth. The biblical account is that it rained for 40 days and nights in which the floodgates of the heavens were opened up as well as the fountains from the earth (Gen. 7:11;8:2). There is a theory known as the canopy theory that states it had never rained on the earth up to the time of Noah and that a mist watered the plants (Gen. 2:6-6). The theory goes on to state that there may have been a heavy cloud or water vapor layer over the entire earth and that it was this canopy of water that became torrential rains during the flood period.
Did the flood cover all the earth? Yes it did. The depth of the flood waters is described in Gen. 7:19 as covering "all the high mountains under the entire heavens." Also, there are many references in the Bible to it being global: Gen. 6:1,4-5,12,13,17,19;7:4,6,10,19;8:3;9:15. There were 40 days of rain (Gen. 7:12), 110 days of flooding (Gen. 7:24) and 221 more days of draining (Gen. 8:1-5,13-14). That is a total of 371 days of flooding that covered the mountains. That could not be a local flood.

In actual reality, it is quite possible that the planet was flooded at few times in history, this would happen do to the natural temperature cycles of the Earth, if all of the ice capes melted, it would appears in some places that the whole world had been flooded, but in reality the water levels would only rise about 26 feet, no where near enough to flood the entire planet. It is a myth that may have some base in fact.

Noah grew to become into married, and his sons and daughter-in-regulations have been on the ark. So, there have been 4 couples and the better halves have been from different households as some distance the checklist exhibits. Why? because of the fact the account does not say that Noah and his "sons and daughters" entered the ark. Their infants could have married cousins or nieces and nephews. It grew to become into some 7 to eight centuries later that God set regulations bearing directly to close kinfolk marrying. this would have been that God observed the transforming into hazard of genetic errors or to chop up the Jews from the customs of the international locations around them further because of the fact some required the brother/sister marriage as grew to become into effortless between the Egyptians.

Shes right Kim, the scientific evidences for Chapter Seven are in Chapter Nine, clearly its credible that the book that you ask about would only make sense if you read the other chapter. No need for any sort of record or anything, video tape or some such, um, and yes the sea creatures found at high elevation, wow, that just sorta leads to a scientific explanation not a "flood of noah" woulnd't it?

If you are serious-there are many books on this subject written by scientist. One of the text books I used in college was "The Creation-Evolution Controversey", by Dr R L Wysong. He covers your question in ch 20 "Geologic Evidence". This is a very good book for people who may question Creation , or Evolution. It covers most common questions and problems. This is a fairly technical book, but can be understood. There are many other books. There is too much evidence for the flood to ignore.

Geologist,
What you need to do, is read the whole passage, not just the few verses that you listed above. You need to read all of Chapter 7 and Chapter 9 of Genesis to get the whole picture of Noah's Flood. If you do this you will understand this.

It's just a story that's just been over emphasized, many cultures have records and stories describing a large flood covering the earth hundreds of years ago.
