I would give him a ride maybe once or twice more, however, giving him fair warning that he needs to find another way. You should not have to explain why. But give him a chance a day or two to come up with a ride. Good luck and God bless

I've been in this situation before - it is a pain. Really - the only thing you can do is tell him that you are so wiped out at the end of the day that all you can think about is getting home, and driving him home is adding too much time to your commute. Tell him you are really sorry - but that he will need to figure something else out - that you can't help him every day.
Suggest to him that Avis rents cars at reasonable weekly rates...
Good luck with this uncomfortable situation.

If you know he can get another ride, perhaps start saying that you need to be home on certain days at a particular time and leave it at that.
If you're worried that with the convience of getting rides with you that it'd delay him in getting his own transportation, then set a time limit of how long you can be giving him rides (ie. a week, two weeks).
Regardless of how you're going to say it, it's not going to be easy and will probably put a strain on your friendship.
Good luck sorting this out!

I quess a flat out approach may work. It is your call, but how about when your car dies, and you find your self in the same predicament.
Maybe some thing may be set up ware, he can ride with you so many days of the week, and find an alternate for the rest.
You may have to stand firm, if you want your privicy back

If he has no other options, then I see no way to be polite about it.
If you know he can carpool with someone else then suggest that he not always catch a ride with you. Is there anyway for him to get to and from your house (bus, another person, etc.)? Then you could still give him a ride, but the burden of getting him to and from your house would be on someone else.

Find out how long it will be before he has another car. He's getting a ride to work , he should ask that person if possible.Tell him you live to far and it takes too long for you drive him and back home. you are putting UN necessary miles on your car..

Well, when you really need help in the future, no one may be there. 10-15 minutes to help a friend. Think this one over carefully. Better yet, just say no and watch: you get what you deserve. We all do.

"I'm very sorry but I cannot continue to give you rides. I am just too tired after work to drive the additional distance to your house." Smile and say you're sorry again. The guy needs to get his own transportation.
