There seems to be lots of questions from dog owners with house breaking concerns. I had my 10 week old puppy trained in two days. Is this unusual? Maybe I just got lucky.

I have two yorkies I had one trained to use puppy pads and litter box in two days. The other one still makes mistakes. I have had her for 3 years now and I still catch her pooping on the carpet at times. I think it just depends on the dog.

You will have got to acquire a crate and begin crating the puppy every time you're now not residence or can not discover him utterly. Set a time table for feeding and potty breaks. It is a well concept to restrict water after a designated time of the day in order that your puppy does now not need to move in a single day. Does the puppy handiest move while excited? Then, it isn't truthfully a crisis with burglary, however what is known as submissive urination. The puppy loses manage of its bladder. If you have not already, take the puppy to the vet and make certain that there are not any scientific issues inflicting the puppy to head within the condominium. Otherwise, the crate must do the trick. If you will have simply very lately received this puppy, it would simply be the difference of instances. He quite often simply demands a refresher direction at eight yrs. ancient. Good good fortune!

Every dog is different.

And how the breeder raised the dog in the first two months is another issue.

The breed of the dog would be another indication.

How you trained it would be another.

But really there are too many variables. Some dogs with the best of training and most wonderful parents could take months to train.

Our breeder raised the puppy to piss and poop on fuzzy warm blankets in the house all it's childhood. Tell me that house training our puppy would only take two days would be a joke :)

Well, if you have a small dog it is.
Did you get your puppy when it was 10 weeks old? If so, that might be why. It had a lof of time with its mother and learned from her. A lot of people here who have potty training issues got their puppies at 6-8 weeks old.
You just know what you're doing :)

Every dog is different, and some learn quicker. Plus, the method used, is a big part of it.
I raised & housebroke 8 puppies, all by the time they were 2 months old and ready to be adopted.

It really depends on the dog, the breed, the age, and your training techniques. I'd say you probably got lucky but some dogs really pick it up quick, others don't. You probably have a really good method and a real quick puppy.

I have adopted a Greyhound that took me nearly a month to potty train...

I would believe that you got very lucky because it takes two months with all the puppies I've had to train.
